Queensburgh BMX Club Crowned KZN Interclub Champions
The Queensburgh BMX Club has proudly claimed the title of Number 1 BMX Club in KZN after a dominant performance in this year’s Interclub series. Competing against Pietermaritzburg BMX Club and Giba BMX Club, Queensburgh delivered consistent results across all three legs of the competition to secure overall victory.
In Team A, Queensburgh accumulated an impressive 1010 points, ahead of Pietermaritzburg on 916 points and Giba on 832 points. Team B continued the strong showing, with Queensburgh scoring 531 points, while Pietermaritzburg finished on 455 points and Giba on 370 points.
The Interclub format is designed to test depth and team spirit. The top five riders in each team are selected to score points, while a “wild card” rider — either chosen randomly or selected by the club chairman before racing — earns double points for their team. In addition, clubs are awarded 10 bonus points if all selected riders compete wearing their official club shirts. If even one rider is not correctly dressed, those valuable bonus points are forfeited.
Points are accumulated over three legs hosted by the three respective clubs, making consistency and teamwork key to overall success.
